Celebrating Easter for Busy Parents

Hi Families;

We are about the enter the most sacred time in our Church calendar - Holy Week (which begins this weekend with Palm Sunday)! This time is even more important than Christmas because this is when we celebrate the ultimate sacrifice that Jesus made for us, His death in the Crucifixion and new life in the Resurrection. Without Jesus having freely chosen to sacrifice his life for us, we would not have the faith that we hold so dear. He also gave us His body and blood in the Eucharist so that we can grow closer to him and become more like him in the world.

These things are often difficult to explain to young children. However, it's important that they understand these things early so that they can fully appreciate the faith that you are passing down to them.

Attached is a Handout that seeks to help you answer some of their difficult questions and which gives practical tips on how to make the Easter season (Easter doesn't end the evening of Easter Sunday, but continues through til Pentecost) more meaningful for you and your children.

Enjoy and celebrate. I hope to see you at Seder Supper (Holy Thursday), Good Friday services, and Easter Sunday!
